Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710–$1,800
- Location: Salisbury, North Carolina

- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m.–7:15 a.m.
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Unit: 36-bed medical-surgical/telemetry setting with approximately 6–7 patients per nurse
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; approximately 3 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
- Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to areas caring for medical-surgical patients
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Technology: Epic and Pyxis
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
- Time Off: Up to 7 days may be approved in advance; no time off during the first week
Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical/telemetry RN experience
- Current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license may be considered for submission
- Current BLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Strong experience with cardiac monitoring, rapid response, and code team procedures
- Proficiency with blood product administration, central-line care, peripheral-line management, and starting and maintaining IVs
- Experience with nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and appropriate PPE use
- Telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification and chemotherapy administration experience preferred but not required
- Must be adaptable, dependable, and open to floating within or near the assigned facility
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, hip fractures, general surgical diagnoses, and other medical-surgical needs
- Monitor patients using telemetry and promptly recognize and respond to changes in cardiac rhythm or clinical condition
- Administer medications, blood products, and intravenous therapies according to established standards
- Assess, manage, and maintain central and peripheral intravenous access
- Support patients requiring nasal cannula oxygen and non-invasive airway management
- Apply isolation precautions and PPE protocols to promote patient and staff safety
- Initiate and participate in rapid response and emergency interventions when indicated
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary resources including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, IV services, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
- Float to other medical-surgical areas as needed while maintaining high standards of patient care
