Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiac Stepdown – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required. Flexibility to float to similar units as needed.
Highlights:
- 91-day travel assignment in a 36-bed surgical telemetry unit with a 32-patient daily census
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (may be 1:5 at midnight)
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Specialized cardiac care including pre/post open-heart surgery patients, vascular surgery, structural heart procedures (VAD, TAVR), and complex arrhythmia management
- Work with advanced cardiac patient populations including myocardial infarction, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and post-catheterization patients
- One pre-approved time off period available; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
Requirements:
- Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Epic charting system experience is mandatory
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Surgical telemetry experience with open-heart surgery and vascular procedures (groin/radial band management) required
- Strong IV skills and experience with chest tubes, sternal precautions, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, blood product administration, and post-cardiac catheterization care
- Optional but preferred: VAD and TAVR experience
- Two professional references covering one year within the last three years
- Must be located outside 50-mile local radius or willing to accept local assignment terms
