Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required. Flexibility to float to similar units as needed.
Highlights:
- Surgical Telemetry Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiac care, including pre/post open-heart surgery patients, vascular surgery, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and heart failure
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (may be 1:5 at midnight), with 36-bed unit and daily census of 32 patients
- Work with specialized structural heart support including LVAD, TAVR, chest tubes, and epicardial pacer management
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Opportunity to care for open-heart patients within the first 1-5 days post-op with sternal precautions and chest tube management
- 91-day travel assignment with orientation provided
Requirements:
- Active RN license with Compact state license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required; previous travel nursing experience required (not accepting first-time travelers)
- Surgical telemetry experience with open-heart surgery and vascular procedures is mandatory, including groin/radial band management
- Epic charting system experience is required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Strong IV skills and experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with post-cardiac catheterization care, chest tubes, blood product administration, and cardiac drip management
- Optional but preferred: VAD and TAVR experience
- Must be flexible with floating to similar units and scheduling needs
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
