Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Seattle, WA 98122

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Seattle, Washington

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required. Flexibility to float to like units as needed to meet operational needs.

Highlights:

  • Surgical telemetry progressive care unit specializing in cardiac patients including pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, myocardial infarction, and arrhythmias
  • 36-bed unit with daily census of 32 patients; nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (may be 1:5 at midnight)
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
  • Advanced cardiac care including LVAD, TAVR, chest tube management, epicardial pacing, and specialized structural heart support
  • 91-day travel assignment with competitive compensation and comprehensive support
  • Opportunity to work with complex cardiac patient populations including post-cath lab, stroke patients with cardiac involvement, and early post-operative open-heart patients

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive care or telemetry experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Epic charting system experience is mandatory
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Surgical telemetry experience with open-heart surgery and vascular procedures required, including radial/groin band management
  • Strong IV skills and experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with chest tubes, sternal precautions, blood product administration, and cardiac drips
  • Preferred experience with VAD and TAVR procedures
  • Must be willing to float to similar units and maintain scheduling flexibility
  • Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
