Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Seattle, WA 98122
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: Seattle, Washington
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required. Floating to like units required. 26-week assignment.
Highlights:
- Surgical Cardiac Telemetry PCU specializing in pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, myocardial infarction, and complex cardiac conditions
- Patient ratio of 4:1 (may be 5:1 at midnight), with 36-bed unit and daily census of 32 patients
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
- Advanced cardiac care including LVAD, TAVR, chest tube management, epicardial pacer management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Manage patients within first 24-28 hours post-open heart surgery with chest tubes and sternal precautions
- Adult and geriatric patient population with specialized structural heart support
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of surgical telemetry experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Epic charting system experience is mandatory
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Demonstrated experience with open heart surgery, vascular procedures, radial/groin band management, and advanced IV skills
- Experience with cardiac drip management, blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, and telemetry interpretation
- Optional preferred experience: VAD and TAVR procedures
- Flexibility to float to similar units as needed
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays during assignment period
