Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position specializing in cardiac care, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU/IMCU experience in a similarly sized, high-volume facility.

Details

  • 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
  • Cardiac patient population including STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiac thoracic surgery (CTS), and chest pain (C/P) cases
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4
  • Cardiac drip management includes Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors
  • Travelers may also be assigned to lower-acuity telemetry beds within the same unit
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active RN license — GA license or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU or IMCU experience in a similarly sized facility required
  • Proven experience in high-pressure, high-volume trauma environments with diverse and severe cases required
  • Experience managing critical cardiac patients and cardiac drip administration required

  • Facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
  • Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Block scheduling is generally not approved
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
