Must-Have: Comfortable with redirection and de-escalation, assisting with ADLs, and participating in physical holds.
Description:
Immediate start needed.
Interviews conducted for review and approval.
Facility is a free-standing acute inpatient unit with a 94-bed capacity.
Unit primarily cares for adolescents and pediatric patients.
Patients are medically cleared, and it is uncommon to have lines, drains, or tubes.
Average day census and expected patient types include adolescents ages 5-18.
Experience with adolescent and pediatric patients is required, particularly those with autism, self-harm behaviors, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, gender dysphoria, and trauma.
Patient ratios are generally 6 psych techs during the day and 2 during the night.
Must be flexible and possess a positive attitude.
Regular rounding every 7.5 minutes and acting as a 1:1 sitter is expected.
Engage in physical holds using the least restrictive measures.
May need to obtain EKGs if necessary.
Work collaboratively with nursing management and be open to discussing any issues.
Scheduled for every other weekend with holiday work in rotation.
Modified self-scheduling will allow signing up for preferred shifts, with oversight to ensure all shifts are covered.
Required to dress in any solid, professional color scrubs.
Security staff will not respond to patient escalations; staff from various units will handle these situations.
