Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care/EMU RN for a night shift contract requiring IL RN licensure and seizure monitoring experience.

Details

  • Advanced Care/EMU unit within a hospital setting
  • Monitors EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week (36 hours)
  • No on-call requirements
  • No floating required
  • 5 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
  • Holiday coverage required every other holiday
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

  • Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, care planning, and implementation for an assigned patient group
  • Monitors EMU patients continuously for seizure activity
  • Collaborates with critical care team and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients
  • Utilizes hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to support patient and family communication
  • Responsible for reporting and correcting safety hazards for patients and staff
  • Participates in peer feedback and ongoing professional development
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • RTO may not exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
  • Contingent workers may not work more than 1 year continuously at this health system without a 6-month break in service
