Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder.
Manage dual diagnosis patients, providing detox services while addressing mental health concerns.
Care for medically acute patients, including IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care.
Utilize the EPIC EMR system for accurate and effective charting.
Administer medications using the Omni Cell automatic medication dispensing system.
Assume the role of charge nurse as needed, overseeing unit operations.
Complete patient admissions and discharges efficiently.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years inpatient adult psych experience.
Proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and understanding of their side effects.
Competency in the use of IV pumps and diabetic patient care.
Active Massachusetts RN License.
AHA BLS certification.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights.
Ability to float between units as required.
Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations.
Understanding of inpatient rights related to restraint and seclusion, and legal statuses.
