    Purpose & Need

    Patel, Greene and Associates (PGA) is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Professional Engineer (PE) to support and grow the Traffic & ITS team. This position is available in any of our offices. In this role, you'll apply your expertise in traffic and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) to lead tasks, support project delivery, and mentor junior staff. You’ll contribute to both technical execution and marketing efforts across a range of transportation projects that directly impact safety and mobility in our communities. You’ll take ownership of design tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, support business development, and serve as a technical resource with minimal supervision. This position supports career growth and leadership within a firm committed to elevating both communities and its people.

    What You’ll Do

    • Demonstrate proficiency in all traffic-ITS concepts
    • Often serves in role of (LTP), but typically under the responsible charge of a more senior PE
    • Capable of leading marketing efforts for less complex projects
    • Assist Task Managers in a variety of project administrative duties
    • Assist Senior Engineers with marketing efforts on larger, more complex projects
    • Directs Engineer Interns, designers, and technicians in completing traffic-ITS tasks, providing frequent peer reviews on their work
    • Requires little-to-no technical supervision by senior staff
    • Complete tasks and projects within established supervisor’s expectations

    What You’ll Need

    • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
    •  0 – 10 years of progressively more complex post-registration Traffic and/or ITS design experience
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an ABET Accredited University, majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering

    What You’ll Bring

    • Excellent verbal communications skills and the ability to interact with a variety of clients
    • Excellent attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
    • Proficient in technical writing
    • Ability to direct and mentor younger staff 
    • Must be able to effectively prioritize and assign work and meet deadlines
    • Excellent ability to perform multiple tasks in an organized manner and concurrently at the direction of PGA’s Leadership Team
    • Demonstrate leadership qualities in all aspects while continuing to produce at a high level
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on deadline-driven activities
    • Skill in working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other Office Products
    • Ability to work with across other disciplines (roadway, structures and drainage, landscape, etc.) to identify and reduce design conflicts
