Based in Tampa, FL we provide Industrial Automation Robotic Solutions, and we're a family run business that has existed for 50+ years. This is a brand new opening as we're seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer who can help grow with our Automation Division in Florida and the Caribbean. You'll be expected to grow our in-house electrical capabilities through value-add services that comply with industry standards. Job Details

Applications Engineering & Customer Support
  • Support customers with application development, troubleshooting, and system optimization
  • Assist with component selection, sizing, and solution development
  • Conduct customer site visits as needed for troubleshooting, startup, and project support
  • Develop technical recommendations and application solutions
  • Support both manufacturing facilities and OEM machine builders

Sales Support & Opportunity Development
  • Serve as a primary technical resource for the outside sales team
  • Participate in customer discovery meetings and technical reviews
  • Support proposal development and solution design
  • Identify opportunities for expanded solutions and engineered systems
  • Provide product and application training to internal teams

Product Management & Supplier Support
  • Develop deep technical knowledge across key fluid power, pneumatic, vacuum, motion, and mechanical automation product lines
  • Support product growth and market-development initiatives
  • Participate in supplier training and technical development programs
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Assist with strategic planning and supplier relationships

Project & Sales Reviews
  • Participate in project and sales review meetings
  • Provide technical guidance on strategic opportunities
  • Evaluate application fit, technical risk, and solution recommendations
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, suppliers, and leadership teams

  • Work directly with both manufacturers and OEM machine builders
  • Support solutions ranging from individual components to complete engineered systems
  • Influence projects from initial concept through implementation
  • Collaborate closely with both engineering and sales teams
  • Develop expertise across multiple leading industrial automation product lines

What We’re Looking For
  • Degree or technical background in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Experience with fluid power, pneumatics, machine design, automation, or related technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable working directly with customers and cross-functional teams

Preferred Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in applications engineering, machine design, fluid power, automation, or a related field
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and OEM customers
  • Experience with pneumatic systems, vacuum applications, or mechanical automation
  • Familiarity with industrial automation, fluid power, motion, or mechanical component suppliers
