    Description

    Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking a Trademark Paralegal to join its Charlotte, NC office. This position will involve a variety of duties that relate to organizing, preparing, filing, docketing and maintaining U.S. and foreign trademark and service marks and other trademark-related matters and to assisting with intellectual property due diligence and filings.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Abides by the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct.
    • Preparing documents related to domestic and foreign trademark and service mark filings, including routine correspondence to the USPTO, foreign agents, clients, etc.
    • Ordering, conducting and reviewing use and registrability searches.
    • Proactively monitoring attorney dockets to assist attorneys in managing timelines.
    • Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
    • Regular and in-person attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this interactive position.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
    • Domestic and/or foreign trademark experience is a plus but is not required.
    • Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills and strict attention to detail, the ability to work both independently and in a team environment to manage a variety of tasks within prescribed timelines, and the ability to develop and maintain a strong substantive understanding of the legal aspects of their work and related documentation.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, or moving objects
    • Medium/Heavy lifting requirements up to 50lbs, exert force 10-25lbs.
    • It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
    • The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
    • The work at times requires bending, squatting and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights, involving the use of carts, dollies and/or hand trucks.
