The Systems Engineering Department invites applications for a full-time tenure-track teaching faculty member at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. This position supports the educational mission of the Academy and the Department within the School of Engineering to provide high-quality educational opportunities to our cadets. The curriculum includes applied engineering courses that focus on the engineering design of conventional, alternative, and renewable energy generation systems as well as power distribution, facility operations and management.
Note that there is no research or publication requirement for this position. We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual who loves teaching and shares our dedication to excellence in undergraduate education.
General Responsibilities:
- Teach an academic course load of 12 credits per semester in Department courses including Electrical Power Distribution, Energy Systems, and Energy Strategy and Management, as well as core engineering courses in Electronics and Electrical Machines with associated Labs, as needed
- Responsible for undergraduate laboratory instruction and curricula, including design of the quality, efficacy, and learning outcomes of experiments
- Advise, mentor, and guide cadets on individual plans of study and progress toward degree
- Develop and teach new courses as needed, consistent with emerging industry demands and the academic goals of the Department
- Participate in Department and Academy-wide academic committees to continuously improve MMA's degree programs and support the academic mission of the Academy.
