Tenure-Track Professor of Pastoral Theology School of Theology and Religious Studies The School of Theology and Religious at The Catholic University of America seeks to fill a tenure-track, open-rank position in Pastoral Theology to begin in Fall 2026. The School encourages applications from candidates with research and teaching agenda in one or more areas of Pastoral Theology, for example, pastoral counseling, the intersection of psychology, spirituality and religion and intercultural competencies. The successful candidate will possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or S.T.D) and will be a scholar of recognized stature or demonstrable potential in the field of Pastoral Theology. Candidates will show readiness to contribute to the life of the School of Theology and Religious Studies, especially in its Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry programs. Responsibilities include teaching in graduate and seminary programs, advising students, directing theses and dissertations, and serving on various committees of the School and University. Experience in seminary formation, seminary teaching, or pastoral counseling is desirable. Experience and/or scholarship in Hispanic Catholic Ministry is also desirable. The position is tenure-track, with research and scholarship expectations. While the School has a strong preference for priest applicants, lay persons are welcome to apply.
