Position Overview

We are Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the technological advancement of our engineering team. The ideal candidate will lead a product line with in-depth knowledge of HV breakers and transformers and their design and application to complex projects. As a subject matter expert and in collaboration with your team and other supporting staff, you will drive advancements in product development in support of the electrical infrastructure industry through the application of products required for complex Data Center, Renewable, Utility and Industrial projects.

The Technology Leader plays a key role in supporting technical proposals, managing the customer experience, and coordinating project delivery success between sales, engineering, and manufacturing. This position is highly visible within the organization and works directly with senior leadership, customers, and manufacturing partners to ensure projects are executed accurately and smoothly.

This is a remote position, with occasional visits to our Atlanta headquarters and Salt Lake City assembly facility.

Key Responsibilities

Leading one or more product lines, the successful candidate will assist in the execution of engineering projects while also assisting with planning, training, and the development of product advancements for HV products.

• Utilize software and tools to develop quotations, plans, sections, schematics, details, wiring and BOM sheets for product drawing sets.
• Perform specification reviews to evaluate requirements, options, lead times, testing requirements, and documentation standards.
• Manage the customer experience from quote through production, including resolving discrepancies and determining solutions to challenging applications.
• Communicate project requirements to internal teams including engineering, scheduling, and manufacturing.
• Provide deep technical support to customers, sales representatives, and internal teams regarding product applications and specifications.
• Utilize industry standards such as ANSI, IEEE, CSA, and NEMA to ensure compliance and product accuracy.
• Participate in customer visits and occasional tours at the Salt Lake City assembly plant.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to quoting, order management, product development and standardization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with preference to power specific programs or
• Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering discipline or Business with 2+ years of experience in technical proposals, quoting, or engineered products.
• 10+ years of experience in product management, technical sales, project coordination, or customer support in a technical environment preferred.
• PE optional.

Skills and Experience

• Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and codes with a strong desire to continue to learn and a passion for product engineering design.
• In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems and transformers and their applications is required.
• Ability to lead a team, receive input from senior leadership and PMs, and provide direction to staff while working in remote, hybrid, or office environments.
• Ability to drive schedules in coordination with Sales, Project Managers, and Sr Leadership with an understanding of proposals, financials, and relationship implications to company success.
• Ability to follow, interpret and apply internal, client, and industry procedures and standards to complex design situations and provide guidance to staff in implementation.
• Attention to detail with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to interact with the client either from an office or field environment to answer technical questions, drive solutions, and mitigate negative impacts in stressful situations.
• Ability to develop, review and evaluate design alternatives based on experience, standards, and codes to solve constructability and design challenges and provide direction to staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ERP or SAP experience is a plus.
• CAD Intermediate

Work Location

Remote position. Company headquarters is located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Occasional in-person meetings in Atlanta (approximately 1-2 times per month) may be required, so proximity to Atlanta is preferred.
