Technical Training Specialist, EHS

The EHS Technical Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training programs for Tesla Texas EHS Manufacturing operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and Tesla EHS policies while fostering a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization. The position involves collaboration with various departments to identify training needs, assess program effectiveness, and maintain EHS training records.

• Design, deliver, and continuously improve hands-on and classroom EHS technical training, with strong background in Electrical Safety (NFPA 70E) and Rigging, along with Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Facilitate new-hire, refresher, and task-specific EHS training for production, facilities, maintenance, tool and die, and support teams, aligned with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and site EHS procedures
• Partner with EHS Specialists on Gemba walks and EHS inspections to validate that trained skills and knowledge are applied on the shop floor
• Drive and support EHS risk-reduction initiatives tied to high-risk activities (electrical safety, control of hazardous energy, working at heights, rigging, confined space), including coordination with Facilities, infrastructure, manufacturing and support teams on equipment, workspace, and infrastructure safeguard implementation
• Use EHS events, near-miss, and inspection trends to identify opportunities to continuously improve EHS training program
• Maintain accurate competency and training records in the LMS; partner with the LMS and Factory training team to keep content, assignments, completions, and reporting current and audit-ready
• Partner with Factory Training, People Development, HR, EHS, operations, maintenance, tool and die, and Facilities so technical EHS training is built into onboarding, skills development, and real shop-floor work
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Education, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of EHS technical training or a similar role in industrial, manufacturing, or logistics operations
• Working knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and applicable company/site EHS standards
• Proficiency in e-learning tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or LMS platforms
• OSHA 500/501 Trainer Certification, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar industry credential (preferred)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
