Position Description

The Technical Specialist 2 - Digital Inclusion Manager position manages staff and the operations of the Digital Inclusion division. The position is also responsible for overseeing digital literacy educators, developing programs to increase digital literacy & digital equity, and establishing partnerships with local and national organizations to accomplish digital literacy & digital equity goals.

Typical Duties

  • Manage and oversee work of full-time and part-time Digital Literacy staff.
  • Mentor and arrange professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Implement new programming to address digital inclusion needs of the community, focusing primary on the aging population.
  • Manage NPL's online digital literacy training platform.
  • Develop and curate content for new computer users and online safety toolkit pages on NPL website.
  • Participate in local and national Digital Inclusion workgroups to share knowledge and design new programs.
  • Apply and manage State Library technology grants.
  • Assist NPLF in completing grant proposals and applications.
  • Provide mid-year and final reports for funders.
  • Keep abreast of new funding opportunities.
  • Represent NPL nationally and conduct presentations and webinars as requested.
  • Prepare and submit budgets, track spending, and submit purchase requests.
  • Track and complete weekly/monthly/annual reports on patron registration, class completion and surveys.
  • Coordinate with National organizations to license curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of experience overseeing Digital Literacy programs including two (2) years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience and/or project management experience.

  • Additional education may be considered In lieu of some experience (1:1 Ratio). Substitution for supervisory/lead experience cannot be substituted.*
