Technical Integration Advisor

Position Summary

The Technical Integration Advisor owns the API layer that enables customers to automate access to product data and streamline how they find and purchase products, whether through direct system integrations, partner platforms, or the company's e-commerce experience.

This role combines hands-on software development, integration architecture, and security ownership and operates as an embedded senior member of the Software Development & Integrations team. The ideal candidate will take a leadership role in production incidents and Agile processes while leveraging approved AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the company's API gateway as the primary channel through which customers and partners access product data and purchasing capabilities, including order automation, catalog and pricing data, and procurement system integrations.
• Design and build integration solutions connecting ERP systems (Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Infor M3), CRM (Salesforce), product information management (Salsify), and e-commerce platforms to support customer-facing automation.
• Design and maintain API connectivity to Microsoft SQL Server data environments, currently hosted on-premises, developing integration patterns that can transition effectively as the organization moves toward cloud-hosted data infrastructure.
• Design, host, and manage APIs and integration services on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Container Apps and Azure Entra ID app registrations, ensuring services reliably and securely support external customers and internal applications.
• Own security architecture and review for the integration layer, including authentication, data exposure, and secure design practices. Coordinate with IT security on WAF and bot mitigation controls (Imperva) and lead the response when security issues arise.
• Develop, test, debug, and support production code within Angular and .NET Core development environments, hosted across Heroku and IIS/ARR, utilizing approved AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code to improve efficiency and delivery speed.
• Lead the response to production issues, including diagnosing problems, coordinating resolutions, and clearly communicating status updates to stakeholders.
• Actively participate in and lead the development team's Agile processes, including two-week sprints, monthly release cycles, sprint planning, grooming, standups, and retrospectives.
• Prioritize delivering working solutions through efficient prototyping, testing, and validation when appropriate.
• Lead demonstrations of completed projects and communicate technical accomplishments in terms of business outcomes.
• Manage integration initiatives from start to finish, including project scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
• Report project progress and challenges to the Manager of Software Development & Integrations, escalating significant architectural or organizational decisions to senior leadership as needed.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and opportunities effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET Core and Angular, including demonstrated ownership of production API services.
• Experience designing and operating API gateways or comparable integration middleware (YARP, Ocelot, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL, including connecting APIs to on-premises SQL environments.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Container Apps, Entra ID, cloud-hosted API management, and designing integrations that support transitions from on-premises SQL to cloud data platforms.
• Understanding of API security fundamentals, including OAuth/SSO, rate limiting, and data exposure risk management.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, PIM, or e-commerce platforms.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code, as part of a daily development workflow.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments, including leading sprint ceremonies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage production incidents from identification through resolution while communicating effectively under pressure.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to present technical solutions and project outcomes to non-technical business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to deliver results through rapid prototyping, proof-of-concept development, and deadline-driven execution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP migrations, particularly Infor M3.
• Experience migrating or re-platforming on-premises SQL Server workloads to Azure SQL or comparable cloud data services.
• Experience with WAF and bot mitigation tools, including Imperva or similar platforms.
• Azure certifications, such as Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect.
• Experience independently managing both technical development and project execution without dedicated project management support.
• Familiarity with digital marketing technologies, web analytics platforms (such as GA4), and site search functionality.
