This role is part of a regional team that owns the implementation and lifecycle management of wide area network (WAN) infrastructure assisting Amazons fulfillment, logistics, and corporate network across North America. The team operates at massive scale to enable the delivery of millions of customer orders every day.

As an Individual Contributor, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of voice and data circuits across the Americas region, including planning, ordering, implementation, augmentation, optimization, and decommissioning. You will play a critical role in ensuring reliable, scalable, and cost-effective network linkage to assist Amazons rapidly expanding infrastructure footprint.

The role requires a individual with strong ownership, the ability to operate independently with limited direction, and the capability to drive large-scale initiatives across multiple geographic regions. You will contribute to automation efforts, build scalable mechanisms, and eliminate manual and repetitive processes to improve delivery speed and operational efficiency.

You will work closely with Engineering, Network Operations, Supply Chain, Real Estate, Finance, and external telecom vendors to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of network services for new site launches and ongoing operations.

You will also act as a key point of contact for circuit delivery and vendor coordination, helping resolve complex challenges, driving process improvements, and aiding long-term scalability of network delivery processes across North America.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive execution of circuit delivery across Amazons North America infrastructure at scale, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex delivery issues involving telecom vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with Engineering, Network Operations, Launch, and Real Estate teams to assist new site launches, retrofits, bandwidth upgrades, and network redesign initiatives.
  • Engage with telecom service providers to coordinate deliveries, track performance, and ensure service quality.
  • Contribute to building scalable mechanisms and standard processes to guide high-volume network expansion.
  • Guide cross-functional programs aimed at improving launch readiness, reducing delivery cycle time, and increasing network availability.
  • Demonstrate a high level of ownership, bias for action, and continuous improvement in day-to-day operations.

About the Company

A

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
