    Description

The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager II (TIPM II) within Data Center Infrastructure Engineering (DCIE) manages cross-functional infrastructure programs across Amazon Fulfillment and Logistics operations worldwide. This role operates primarily tactically while growing strategically - owning end-to-end program execution and adapting deployment plans to varying site and regional scenarios within a defined program strategy.

The TIPM II drives collaboration across engineering, operations, vendors, finance, and field teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure. This includes owning program performance metrics, infrastructure health dashboards, and reporting (MBRs, QBRs, OP narratives) that give stakeholders visibility into program impact, risks, and investment justification.

This role requires the ability to work independently and seek guidance as needed, adapt deployment plans where templates do not fully fit, coordinate resources and priorities across teams, and find paths forward in difficult situations - while beginning to mentor peers and improve team and project processes.

    Key job responsibilities

    Program Strategy & Execution

    • Own end-to-end execution of cross-functional infrastructure programs; define scope and success criteria within the program"s established strategy
    • Deliver in environments where deployment plans may need modification from defined templates; coordinate resources and priorities across teams
    • Manage scope, risk, and time vs. cost trade-offs across program delivery

    Program Reporting & Performance Metrics

    • Own program KPIs (uptime, power efficiency, deployment cycle times, cost per deployment)
    • Build and maintain dashboards; recognize when deployment issues stem from technical design gaps and raise them to engineering

    Reporting & Business Reviews

    • Own OP1/OP2 narratives, MBRs, QBRs, and risk reports for your programs
    • Present program status and recommendations to management and senior leadership

    Risk Management & Compliance

    • Identify and mitigate risks impacting execution; partner with DPM on escalations and deviation approvals
    • Work with infrastructure engineering teams to address audit failures

    Process Improvement

    • Improve project and cross-team process efficiency; create more predictable delivery paths

    Stakeholder Communication & Leadership

    • Act as the interface between engineering, operations, vendors, and management
    • Build consensus across differing views; begin mentoring peers and contractors

    A day in the life

Your day starts reviewing infrastructure health dashboards and overnight ticket trends to identify issues or opportunities. You"ll lead morning syncs with engineers and SysDevs to align on milestones, unblock deliverables, and escalate risks. Midday, you collaborate with vendors and partner teams on deployment schedules or supply chain constraints. Afternoons involve deep dives on program metrics or preparing status updates for business reviews. You close out by refining milestone progress, intake priorities, or supporting peers on program delivery - all while helping shape infrastructure direction across thousands of Amazon FCs.

Amazon offers a full range of benefits for you and eligible family members, including domestic partners. Benefits can vary by location, the number of regularly scheduled hours you work, length of employment, and job status such as seasonal or temporary employment.

Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
