SAIC is seeking a Technical Director to provide strategic technical leadership, drive solution architecture, and ensure successful delivery of complex engineering and IT initiatives, The Technical Director will serve as the senior technical authority, partnering with program leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams to define and execute the technical vision, manage technical risk, and ensure solutions meet mission, performance, and compliance requirements.

JOB DUTIES:

• Serve as the primary technical authority for the program, responsible for overall technical strategy, roadmaps, and execution.
• Lead the design, development, integration, and deployment of complex systems and solutions in alignment with customer requirements, enterprise standards, and best practices.
• Oversee technical baselines, architecture decisions, and system design reviews; chair or participate in Technical Review Boards (TRBs) and Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) as required.
• Translate customer requirements and operational needs into technical architectures, implementation plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineering and development teams, including systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity engineers, and other specialists.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks; develop COAs (courses of action) and trade studies to support informed decision-making.
• Ensure that all technical solutions comply with relevant standards, security policies, configuration management practices, and quality processes.
• Collaborate closely with Program Manager(s) on planning, schedule, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure technical work is executable and aligned to cost/schedule constraints.
• Engage routinely with customer stakeholders to communicate technical status, issues, and recommendations; lead technical briefings and design reviews.
• Drive innovation through evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies that improve performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Support business development and capture activities as the technical lead, including solution shaping, ROM and BOE development, and proposal technical volumes/orals.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of program-wide engineering processes, standards, and best practices

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have an Active Secret Clearance at start.
• 5 years of experience as a personnel manager, Deputy PM, Technical Lead or Project Manager on contracts of a team of similar size, scope and complexity.
• PMP Certification.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication - Oral and Written.
• Proficient with Microsoft applications and programs (Visio, Project, Publisher, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel).
• Comprehensive and thorough knowledge of: Best Practices Studies, Business Case Analysis, Creative Problem Solving, Decision Briefing, Project Management Processes, Project Activity Implementation, and Risk Management, Strategic Planning.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with DoD Tactical Networks.
• Financial management and Financial Planning.
• Operational or analytic production experience.
• Knowledge of: Change management, Facilitation, Organizational Assessment, Process Modeling, Business Planning, Business Process Reengineering, Consensus Building, Organizational Restructure, Design, and Implementation, Project Management Processes, Data Modeling, and Benchmarking/metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly ramp up to support customer's needs, clearly communicate (orally and written) ideas, take initiative to provide creative solutions to challenges and/or systemic problems.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
