Position Summary:

Lawrence Family Public Academy is a PreK and Kindergarten school and we are looking for a new team member to support our school community.

Primary purpose: To create a warm, safe environment that fosters a love for learning and promotes social-emotional well-being and academic growth; to use knowledge of student data and abilities to implement equitable, standards-based lessons; to build effective relationships with students and their families.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teach foundational reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science according to Common Core and Massachusetts Curriculum Standards
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to meet the needs of each student
• Create a classroom environment that is culturally responsive and conducive to learning, is age-appropriate and considers the interests of the students using a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, hands-on and play-based learning, discovery/center-based learning, etc
• Uses relationship building as the foundation for behavior management and utilizes restorative practices to address behavior concerns
• Evaluates students' academic and social growth; Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' progress
• Works cooperatively with school team to collect and analyze data, observe and discuss best practices, plan lessons and collaborate to improve student outcomes list
• Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator in fulfilling teacher evaluation procedures
• Attend school sponsored activities (e.g., Open House) agreed upon by the building administrator and the faculty consistent with the teachers' contract

Pay Range

• Varies according to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement
