Teacher - PE

Purpose of Position/Summary:

This position is 3 days a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function and exercise.

• Enthusiasm for the content and developmental needs and energy of young students.
• Creative, engaging approach to lesson planning and use of resources.
• Focus on building and modeling interpersonal relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Demonstrate competence in Google Apps for Education and Chromebooks.
• Serve as a resource for administration, helping to develop a program that serves the needs of students and stays relevant as new technologies develop.
• Supervise students during lunch and parking lot duties.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate field day.
• All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in physical education preferred

• Valid Indiana teaching license preferred

• Strong technology skills, competent in the use of Google applications

• Flexible mindset with the willingness to adapt quickly to change

• Comfortable speaking in front of students in a classroom setting

• Willingness to follow classroom discipline policies and procedures
