Job Requirements.
EducationRequirements: High school diploma or equivalent (or actively working toward completion); additional childcare/education coursework preferred.
CertificationsRequirements: CPR and First Aid training (or ability to obtain prior to assignment).
ExperienceRequirements: Minimum 1 year of experience working with children; 2 years of experience preferred (classroom/Teacher Aide or closely related childcare support). Strong classroom behavior support experience.
OtherRequirements: Must be bilingual Spanish-English; must be energetic, super hardworking, and able to engage a young learner with warmth and consistency. Required experience/comfort using first-and-then boards and token systems (or equivalent behavior/communication supports). Experience supporting a non-verbal kindergartener with developmental delays for part of the day, then supporting in a general education kinder classroom with behavior kiddos for the other part of the day. Ability to follow classroom routines and implement behavior strategies consistently. Must be able to support and supervise a 5-year-old safely throughout the school day; patience, calm communication, and trauma-sensitive practices are important. Resume required (must clearly reflect experience), and applicants should be prepared for background/eligibility checks required for school placements.

JobResponsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to a Bluff Springs Kinder student (5 years old) in a general education classroom, supporting learning, safety, and engagement throughout the day.
Support the student during the half of the day when they are non-verbal with developmental delay, using first-and-then boards and token systems (or similar behavior/communication supports) as instructed.
Transition to support in the other half of the day within the kinder classroom, assisting with routines and helping manage behavior with consistency and positive reinforcement.
Use trauma-sensitive, resilience-building strategies and maintain a calm, patient approach with a child who may have behavioral needs.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to follow classroom plans, implement behavior strategies reliably, and communicate any observations or updates as needed.
