ABOUT THE ROLE

A growing public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Supervisor to join its Private Client Services practice. This role focuses on providing tax compliance, planning, and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, family offices, private foundations, and closely held investment entities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical tax expertise, experience managing complex client relationships, and the ability to mentor junior professionals. This position offers significant exposure to sophisticated tax planning strategies and multi-generational wealth preservation initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage tax compliance engagements for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, family partnerships, and private foundations.
  • Serve as a primary contact for clients and advisors, providing ongoing tax planning and advisory support.
  • Review complex individual, fiduciary, gift, estate, and partnership tax returns.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and develop strategies to improve client tax efficiency.
  • Analyze complex financial situations and provide customized tax planning recommendations.
  • Conduct technical tax research and communicate findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor changes in federal, state, and local tax regulations and advise clients on potential impacts.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, wealth advisors, family office professionals, and other external advisors.
  • Mentor and review the work of junior tax professionals while supporting their technical development.
  • Assist with engagement management, project planning, and client deliverable deadlines.
  • Support practice development initiatives and help strengthen long-term client relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPA required or actively pursuing certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience focused on private client taxation.
  • Experience with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, gift tax, and partnership taxation.
  • Strong understanding of fiduciary taxation and wealth transfer planning concepts.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client engagements.
  • Excellent tax research and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff preferred.
  • Master's in Taxation, JD, or LLM is a plus.

This role can be based in Long Island, NYC, or South Florida.
