Position: Tax Services Manager | Sioux Falls, SD

We're not just looking for someone who knows the tax code — we're looking for a leader who can turn a talented tax team into a well-oiled, deadline-crushing machine while delivering the kind of strategic advice that keeps clients coming back year after year.

If you have 7+ years of tax experience, a CPA or EA in hand (or close to it), and a genuine drive to coach and develop people, this is your seat at the table.

The Role: Owning the Tax Department

You'll be the point of accountability for every tax return that leaves our doors — reviewing staff work for accuracy, managing workflow and capacity through the busiest months of the year, and owning the department's revenue goal. You'll also be the technical resource your team leans on and the trusted advisor clients turn to when big tax decisions are on the table.

What You'll Do:

• Review & Ensure Quality: Review all tax returns prepared by staff for accuracy and compliance with Federal, State, and local tax law, and jump in to prepare returns yourself when needed.
• Manage Workflow & Capacity: Keep the department's workload organized and on schedule, proactively spotting capacity issues before they become deadline problems.
• Own the Numbers: Take ownership of the tax department's revenue goal and track performance through team scorecards and metrics.
• Advise & Represent: Advise clients and coach staff on the tax impact of business decisions, prepare and respond to IRS correspondence, and represent Limestone clients before the IRS on complex matters.
• Lead & Develop: Coach your team, deliver feedback that raises the bar, and communicate changes in tax law to staff and clients alike.

What You Bring to the Table

We're looking for someone who pairs deep technical expertise with the leadership instincts to bring out the best in a team.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Credentials: CPA or EA designation preferred.
• Experience: 7+ years in tax work, including prior tax review or supervisory experience.
• Tech Savvy: Comfortable in QuickBooks (Desktop & Online), Intuit ProConnect, and the Microsoft Suite.
• Leadership: A track record of coaching staff and holding a team to a high standard.
• Mindset: Detail-oriented, accountable, and energized by a fast-paced tax season.
