A well-established mid-sized accounting and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join its team in San Jose, CA, with a hybrid schedule. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex engagements, manage a talented tax team, and advise clients across various industries while maintaining work-life flexibility and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations.
Conduct technical reviews and approvals of tax filings and governmental examinations.
Lead client relationships and ensure exceptional service delivery across assigned engagements.
Oversee and mentor tax staff; delegate tasks to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and workflow efficiency.
Serve as a technical expert on complex tax matters and industry-specific issues.
Represent clients before federal, state, and local tax authorities as necessary.
Contribute to recruiting, coaching, training, and career development initiatives for team members.
Support ongoing process and software improvements to enhance remote collaboration and productivity.
Assist in business development through client referrals, networking, and thought leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation preferred.
Active CPA license and membership in good standing required.
7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
At least 2 years of experience representing clients before tax authorities.
Strong knowledge of current federal, state, and local tax laws.

Compensation
Compensation range: $180,000 – $215,000 annually, based on experience and credentials. Includes performance incentives, continuing education support, and comprehensive benefits.
