Tax Manager - Real Estate

Location: Greenville, SC

Overview

A growing regional tax, assurance and consulting firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its real estate practice in Greenville. You will work with real estate clients in the Carolinas and Tennessee, helping them reach their strategic goals through a proactive, future-oriented service approach. The role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain excellent relationships with real estate clients
• Perform technical review of tax returns of varying complexity
• Review operating agreements, letters of intent, purchase agreements and other documents related to tax transactions
• Review and develop workpapers supporting partnership allocations, basis adjustments and tax transactions
• Delegate and manage tax and research assignments
• Monitor engagement economics, including billing and collections
• Coach, train and give performance feedback to team members
• Identify opportunities for additional services and pursue new leads

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Tax preferred
• 5+ years of recent public accounting experience, including managing multiple real estate tax engagements
• Significant real estate industry experience with all entity types, especially partnerships
• Experience analyzing distribution and profit/loss provisions in operating agreements
• CPA certification
• Experience developing team members and managing workflow
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
