About the Role:

We are seeking a Tax Associate to support tax planning and compliance engagements for high net worth individuals, families, trusts, estates, gift tax matters, and closely held businesses. This role provides the opportunity to build technical expertise in individual and fiduciary taxation while preparing complex tax returns, conducting tax research, and collaborating with experienced tax professionals to deliver exceptional client service. This position is ideal for candidates with public accounting experience who are looking to advance their career in tax advisory and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for high net worth individuals, pass through entities, trusts, estates, and gift tax engagements.
  • Assist with tax planning and compliance projects involving individuals, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses.
  • Conduct tax research on federal, state, and local tax issues and summarize findings for senior tax professionals.
  • Communicate with engagement teams to gather information, resolve tax issues, and ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
  • Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Support the identification and implementation of tax planning opportunities for clients.
  • Assist with practice development initiatives, process improvements, and efficient service delivery.
  • Stay current on tax legislation, regulatory developments, and industry trends affecting individual, trust, estate, and gift taxation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of U.S. tax compliance or tax consulting experience in a public accounting environment.
  • Eligible to sit for the CPA examination.
  • Working knowledge of individual income tax, trust, estate, gift, and pass through entity taxation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related discipline.
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification.
  • Experience preparing tax returns for multiple entity types, including partnerships, S corporations, trusts, and estates.
  • Familiarity with professional tax preparation and tax research software.
  • Strong client service skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across engagement teams.
