Role: Systems Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA

Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule following an initial onsite onboarding period. Candidates should be comfortable working onsite Monday-Friday during their first 90 days, with a hybrid schedule available thereafter.

Compensation: $103,000-$133,600 base salary

Ledgent Technology has partnered with a local employer on their search for a Systems Engineer. This opportunity is ideal for an infrastructure professional who enjoys driving modernization initiatives, implementing new technologies, and supporting enterprise environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure solutions
• Support Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud-based environments
• Administer virtualization platforms and enterprise systems
• Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
• Support Microsoft 365 technologies and related infrastructure
• Drive infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects
• Automate administrative and operational tasks where appropriate
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide escalated support
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategic technology initiatives

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering experience
• Strong experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
• Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Virtualization experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms
• Experience implementing and supporting enterprise infrastructure solutions
• Strong troubleshooting and project delivery skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft 365 administration experience
• Azure, AWS, or GCP certifications
• PowerShell or automation experience
• Backup and disaster recovery expertise
• Experience with infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives
• Strong project implementation experience rather than strictly operational support work
