PGS Worldwide is seeking a Systems Engineer in Owego, New York for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support systems engineering activities across the full product lifecycle, including requirements development, system integration, verification and validation, technical planning, trade studies, and interface definition.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of systems engineering experience.
- 2+ years of systems development experience.
- 2+ years of requirements development experience.
- 2+ years of experience supporting embedded systems.
- Experience translating customer and product requirements into system-level solutions.
- Experience with requirements allocation and decomposition.
- Experience supporting system integration activities.
- Experience with verification and validation (V&V).
- Experience performing functional analysis and technical trade studies.
- Experience defining hardware and software interfaces.
- Ability to evaluate technical, schedule, cost, and risk considerations.
- Experience supporting systems throughout multiple lifecycle phases such as design, fabrication, integration, test, installation, operation, or sustainment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Avionics systems experience.
- Aerospace or defense systems engineering experience.
- Experience supporting complex embedded hardware/software systems.
What You’ll Do
- Perform technical planning and systems engineering activities across the product lifecycle.
- Support system integration, verification, and validation.
- Translate customer requirements into complete system solutions.
- Develop and allocate system requirements to hardware and software elements.
- Perform functional and timeline analyses.
- Conduct detailed trade studies.
- Define and analyze system interfaces.
- Evaluate system designs for technical performance, supportability, effectiveness, cost, and risk.
- Support system activities from concept and design through fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
- Develop hardware and software specifications from system-level requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure system solutions meet technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
