This is a 100% on-site position and will be at the customer's location at NIWC Pacific.We are looking for a San Diego-based Systems Engineer to join our team at NKI. This is a 100% onsite, full-time position following a 9/80 schedule.Responsibilities Include:Design and architecture of the specification and documentation for Interoperability of the NSA High Assurance IP Encryptor (HAIPE) family of secure IP networking devicesParticipate in design meetings, architecture reviews, and working group meetingsResearch and integration of current industry standard protocols and practicesCreate documentation as required Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field of study. 3+ years of professional experienceExperience interfacing and presenting to the customerExpertise in Network Software Engineering or Network ProtocolsIETF RFCs and associated networking specificationsLayer 2/3/4 protocol-level analysis and developmentIn-depth understanding of IPv4 & IPv6IPsec, cryptographic primitives & mechanismsInternet and Routing protocolsExperience designing data modeling schema (for example YANG models and RESTCONF)US. citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Preferred Qualifications2+ years of programming experience in PythonLow-level Linux TCP/UDP/TLS/raw socket programming & analysisExperience with Gitlab or CI/CD pipelinesExpertise in Linux Systems and Virtual Machines CompensationBase salary: $100,000-$130,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
