What You’ll Do:
  • Manage complex inpatient cardiac surgery patients in a stepdown setting
  • Support with procedures such as chest tube placement/removal, pacemaker management, and wound care
  • Conduct daily assessments, diagnosis, and develop treatment plans
  • Recognize signs of clinical deterioration and escalate timely
  • Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary team
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC and Sectra systems
  • Assist with discharge planning and patient education

What You Need:
  • Current Missouri PA license and board certification
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably with trauma level I background
  • Proficiency in managing cardiac procedures and patient stabilization
  • Strong communication and professionalism skills

About the Assignment:

This position supports a cardiac surgery stepdown unit within a high-acuity environment, caring for adult patients undergoing complex procedures such as CABG, valve repairs, and aortic surgeries. The role involves autonomous practice with collaborative support from cardiac surgeons and hospitalist teams. You will play a vital role in patient care, from admission to discharge, ensuring optimal outcomes.
