What You’ll Do
- Assist in adult cardiothoracic surgeries including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, ascending aortic procedures, and more
- Support complex procedures such as Maze, endoscopic vein harvesting, and mechanical circulatory support (Impella, ECMO, IABP)
- Collaborate with a team of 5 cardiac surgeons and intensivists to deliver patient care in the operating room and clinic settings
- Follow patient care plans using Epic EMR and charting software
- Participate in on-call rotations including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
What You Need
Required:- Missouri state license
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years’ independent adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience
- Board certification in a relevant specialty
Preferred:- RNFA certification
- Experience with advanced cardiac procedures and equipment
About the Assignment
This role is based at an academic hospital with a busy cardiac surgery program performing approximately 517 pump cases annually. You will be integral in supporting a wide variety of complex cardiac surgeries in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. The shift includes rotating call coverage as detailed in the schedule, providing a dynamic and engaging work setting.
