Job Summary
The Supervisor II – Operations will lead production, maintenance, and/or warehouse employees while ensuring departmental goals are met across safety, quality, production schedules, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
The supervisor will serve as a key connection between shop-floor employees and management, resolving operational and employee issues, monitoring performance, managing maintenance activities and costs, and ensuring employees have the proper training, tools, and work instructions.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and lead production, maintenance, and/or warehouse employees.
· Develop and execute departmental plans focused on safety, quality, schedule, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
· Monitor employee and production-line performance.
· Investigate and resolve people, process, system, part, and production issues.
· Identify performance deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
· Administer company policies, procedures, and work rules.
· Handle employee complaints and corrective/disciplinary actions when required.
· Partner with the Safety Team to maintain workplace safety standards and prevent injuries.
· Plan equipment and facility maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and utilization.
· Manage departmental costs and maintain operating budget targets.
· Establish an effective work environment through communication, coaching, feedback, and guidance.
· Ensure employees receive appropriate training, work instructions, tools, and resources.
· Lead continuous improvement and process optimization activities.
· Communicate effectively with both management and shop-floor employees.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Strong supervisory and leadership experience.
· Experience supervising employees in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
· Strong communication and employee-management skills.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Ability to investigate and resolve people, process, system, and production issues.
· Knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulations.
· Ability to manage production schedules, departmental priorities, and objectives.
· Experience supporting continuous improvement activities.
· Strong computer skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
· Ability to work effectively with both management and shop-floor employees.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
· Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience supervising warehouse operations.
· Experience managing production or maintenance employees.
· Experience with employee performance management and corrective actions.
· Experience with safety programs and injury prevention.
· Equipment and facility maintenance planning experience.
· Experience with budget management and cost control.
· Experience with continuous improvement and process optimization.
· Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment.
Education & Experience
· 4-year degree strongly preferred.
· 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
· Candidates with a high school diploma/equivalent and supervisory experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment will also be considered.
· Strong computer skills, including Excel and Outlook, required.
