Job Summary
The Supervisor II – Operations is responsible for leading production, maintenance, and/or warehouse employees and achieving departmental goals related to safety, quality, productivity, schedule, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role serves as the first-line liaison between shop-floor employees and management, providing leadership, guidance, performance management, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and lead production, maintenance, and/or warehouse employees.
· Develop and execute departmental plans to achieve goals for: Safety, Quality, Schedule, Efficiency, Continuous Improvement
· Investigate, analyze, and resolve system, part, people, and process issues.
· Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve processes and performance.
· Administer employee policies, procedures, practices, and work rules.
· Monitor individual and production-line performance.
· Take corrective action, including discipline, when necessary.
· Respond to employee complaints and ensure compliance with company policies.
· Work with the Safety Team to enforce safety regulations and prevent workplace injuries.
· Plan equipment and facility maintenance to maximize uptime and utilization of capital assets.
· Manage and control costs within departmental operating budget targets.
· Establish a positive work environment through communication, feedback, and employee guidance.
· Ensure employees have appropriate training, work instructions, and tools.
· Lead departmental continuous improvement plans and activities.
· Communicate effectively between production employees and management.
Required Qualifications
· Strong supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
· High school diploma/equivalent with relevant supervisory experience desired.
· 4-year degree strongly preferred.
· 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing preferred.
· Strong computer skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to manage employees and operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ideal Candidate
A hands-on operations supervisor with strong manufacturing or warehouse leadership experience who can effectively manage shop-floor teams, resolve operational issues, enforce safety and company policies, and drive quality, productivity, cost control, and continuous improvement.
