Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position

The Administrative Lead Assistant supports the Administrative Supervisor in the daily operation of the hotel Front Desk by providing leadership, training, and guidance to student employees while promoting exceptional guest service and operational efficiency. This position requires regular communication with staff, supervisors and management, proficiency in all Front Desk functions, and a flexible schedule that accommodates departmental needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Student Employee Leadership: Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate Front Desk student employees while fostering professional development and accountability.
  • Front Desk Operations: Support efficient Front Desk operations by assisting with reservations, maintaining operational readiness, and delivering exceptional guest service across all shifts.
  • Administrative Operations: Assist with reports, administrative communications, email correspondence, operational planning, departmental improvements, and other functions in collaboration with the Administrative Supervisor and hotel management.
  • Staffing & Operational Support: Assist with shift coverage, call-ins, and after-hours support as needed
  • Events & Programming: Lead and support hotel participation in SHSU, hotel and departmental events.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations and organizational success.

Other Requirements for the Position

Training, knowledge and availability of shifts and departments required for this position include all 3 Front Desk shifts. (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am)

Must be available for weekends, holidays, summer, winter break.
