    Job Summary

    The School of Education is seeking self-motivated and proactive Education students to serve as Recruitment and Engagement Leaders. These leaders will support SOE faculty and staff with recruiting new students to GGC. These leaders will also support SOE faculty and staff with engaging pre-Education majors to help them learn about the field of education and navigate the pre-Education stage of the program. Activities may include designing and implementing recruitment events, attending recruitment events at local high schools, supporting programming activities, program promotion, and leading workshops. Recruitment and Engagement Leaders will benefit from professional development from faculty and staff in the School of Education.

    Letter(s) of recommendation by a GGC faculty or staff member are required.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide informal mentoring support for pre-education majors (P-12 Teacher Workforce Program participants).
    • Assist with managing and scheduling recruitment activities.
    • Assist with designing, preparing, and distributing promotional materials for School of Education degree programs, learning sessions, and related events.
    • Help maintain related social media platforms as needed.
    • Conduct campus tours and host information sessions.
    • Present at high schools or student organization meetings to share about the Education programs.
    • Answer inquiries and distribute promotional materials at recruitment events.
    • Assist with event/meeting set-up and clean-up.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College.
    • Must have declared a major in Education at Georgia Gwinnett College, with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 or greater
    • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
    • Must be in good conduct standing with Georgia Gwinnett College and maintain good standing for the duration of employment.
    • Must be able to work 10-15 hours a week as needed.
    • Letter(s) of recommendation by a GGC faculty or staff member are required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with marketing and recruiting programs and events.
    • Experience promoting and supporting programs and events.
    • Familiarity with social media tools.
    • Ability to think on your feet when asked unexpected questions.
    • Software proficiency such as Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
    • Ability to balance work hours with your academic schedule and deadlines.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Able to exercise discretion to handle confidential information.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills are expected.
    • Able to act responsibly with resources such as technology and information.
    • Engage and interact in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Knowledge of Education majors and EPP admission requirements.
    • Knowledge of GGC campus resources and student life.
    • Proficiency with social media tools, presentation software, and basic data entry.
