Your Key Responsibilities

The role of a Structural Designer is to work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a senior engineer. As a Structural EIT, you will be able to perform structural analysis, design, and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Perform structural calculations and analysis of buildings and other structures.
  • Assist in preparing deliverable documents including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Assist Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
  • Participate in project meetings; communicate design issues and solutions with the design team.
  • Develop an understanding of industry standard design processes and construction means and methods.
  • Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time.
