Strategic Key Account Manager, Sulfuric Acid & Sulfides (SPPC)

Compensation Range: $160,000 - $180,000 USD + Bonus + Benefits
A day in this role
You start your morning reviewing a pricing update for a long-standing distributor while checking inventory positions and freight lanes to ensure margin targets are met. By mid-morning, you’re on a video call with a strategic account discussing application support for sulfuric acid and SHS. After lunch, you’re collaborating with operations, distribution, and quality to resolve a customer issue, then finalizing terms on a multi-year agreement that aligns volume, selling price, and optimized freight. You wrap the day documenting call reports, updating your forecast in SAP, and mapping new opportunities in your Texas–Louisiana territory.
About the opportunity
As Chemtrade’s Corporate Account Manager, you’ll own relationships with high-impact direct and distribution customers across business units, with a primary focus on SPPC offerings: sulfuric acid, acid regeneration, SHS, sulfides, sulfur, and related products. You will develop and execute account strategies that exceed contribution and margin plans, grounded in market insight, commercial acumen, and collaboration across the enterprise.
What you will do
- Build, deepen, and maintain executive and operational relationships to anticipate needs and recommend actions that move the market in our favor.
- Own customer satisfaction—identify gaps and take timely corrective actions to protect and grow key accounts.
- Create and implement account-by-account tactical plans to outperform goals on volume, pricing, and freight optimization.
- Negotiate and analyze strategic agreements with input from leadership to meet corporate objectives.
- Respond to customer inquiries tied to product use and operational challenges, connecting technical resources where needed.
- Surface, qualify, and advance new opportunities that align with growth and trade-up strategies.
- Run the sales process end-to-end: price-change notifications, quotes, territory planning, budgeting, forecasting, call reports, and expenses.
- Partner proactively with operations, distribution, customer service, technical, and quality to resolve issues and execute strategy.
- Coordinate with accounting to maintain current accounts receivable.
- Understand cost structure, supply chain, and inventory dynamics to shape deals that maximize value and meet customer requirements.
- Manage resources to budget while tracking all cost drivers that impact the cost-to-serve.
- Lead and support projects with Sales/Marketing to develop new or adjacent business.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; 10–15 years in chemical sales/marketing. MBA is a strong asset.
- Valid driver’s license and passport; ability to travel up to 50%.
- Fluency with SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Outstanding verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
