As Strategic Development Manager - Construction Markets, you'll lead a team of Construction Solutions Managers and drive growth across key market segments. You'll set market and account priorities, guide strategic opportunities, and help expand Viega's presence by connecting customer needs with our portfolio of solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of Business Development professionals to support business objectives and growth targets.
  • Guide the team across the construction project lifecycle, from opportunity identification and qualification through specification development, stakeholder engagement, project tracking, and conversion to sales.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies across multiple market segments.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities to inform priorities and identify areas for growth.
  • Guide strategic account planning and opportunity pursuit strategies for key customers and markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, decision-makers, influencers, distributors, and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Specifications, Marketing, Product Management, and other functions to advance opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain oversight of customer information and account segmentation within the CRM system.
  • Support product specification efforts for facilities and large accounts.
  • Develop and deliver presentations that support customer engagement and market growth.
  • Use business analytics and key performance indicators to evaluate team performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related area, including 3+ years of experience leading or developing others.
  • Knowledge of customers, market trends, and industry associations within commercial or industrial construction.
  • Experience developing business development strategies, market growth plans, or strategic account plans.
  • Ability to analyze market dynamics, customer needs, and business data and translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Experience supporting team development, performance, and accountability.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with SAP, Business Warehouse, Salesforce, or similar business systems is beneficial.

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $100,000 to $142,000 USD annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
