A bit about us:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Accounts Manager – Data Centers to develop new business and drive technical product specifications across next-generation data center environments.

This role will focus on building relationships throughout the data center ecosystem, including hyperscalers, system integrators, OEMs, distributors, engineers, architects and procurement teams.

The ideal candidate combines a strong technical understanding of data center infrastructure with the commercial ability to identify applications, influence specifications, navigate complex sales cycles and convert opportunities into long-term revenue.

This is a remote position, with candidates ideally located in the Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta or Northern Virginia markets. Travel is expected approximately 50–70%.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business across hyperscale, colocation and large enterprise data center environments.
  • Drive product specifications into new data center projects, infrastructure designs and customer applications.
  • Identify, qualify and close opportunities with hyperscalers, system integrators, OEMs, distributors and other ecosystem partners.
  • Build strategic relationships with engineering, architecture, procurement and technical decision-makers.
  • Develop account plans and growth strategies aligned with revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Serve as a technical resource throughout customer evaluations, demonstrations, design discussions and specification processes.
  • Lead consultative sales discussions around customer applications, infrastructure challenges and technical requirements.
  • Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial opportunity through specification and commercialization.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with customers and strategic partners.
  • Deliver technical presentations and support customer-facing product discussions.
  • Build and maintain a strong opportunity pipeline through CRM.
  • Maintain accurate customer, project, quotation, contract and opportunity information.
  • Contribute to revenue forecasts and annual sales projections across existing and new business.
  • Partner cross-functionally with technical, marketing, product and project-management teams to support customer requirements and new opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, specification sales or strategic account management within data centers, networking, infrastructure or related technical markets.
  • Strong understanding of data center systems and infrastructure.
  • Proven experience working with hyperscalers, system integrators, OEMs or other major data center ecosystem partners.
  • Experience developing business with large, technically sophisticated customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, procurement teams and commercial decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing technical specifications and product selection.
  • Proven ability to manage long, complex and multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation and consultative selling skills.
  • Experience selling engineered products, technical components, infrastructure solutions or other value-added products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-directed approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • CRM experience; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50–70%.
