    Baker Tilly, one of the fastest growing CPA advisory firms in the nation, has an incredible career opportunity for a State & Local Tax Manager (Income Franchise) to join our growing State & Local Tax (SALT) practice!

    Our SALT practice is made up of 300+ professionals across the U.S., providing a full spectrum of services including Income & Franchise, Sales & Use, Real & Personal Property, and Unclaimed Property. As a member of this talented team, you will help clients capitalize on strategic ideas and planning techniques that ensure state and local tax compliance, reduce expenses and enhance cash flow, and effectively manage their multistate income and franchise tax obligations.

    You will enjoy this role if:
    • You like working directly with CFO's & owners of middle market clients and SALT leaders of Fortune 500 clients to help them solve their most complex state & local tax challenges.
    • You want to continue to expand your leadership experiences and hone your technical and consulting skills as a comprehensive SALT professional with opportunities spanning state income and franchise tax compliance and consulting, nexus, sales sourcing, apportionment, tax research, ruling requests, process review, reverse audits, voluntary disclosures, credits & incentives, and other multistate tax matters.
    • You enjoy balancing technical consulting with hands-on oversight of state income and franchise tax compliance, including reviewing apportionment and sourcing workpapers and performing initial quality reviews of returns.

    What you'll do:
    • Be a trusted advisor to middle market and Fortune 500 clients by providing strategic state and local tax consulting and compliance services that lower their effective tax rates, ensure compliance, manage risk, and provide value across the spectrum of state and local taxes.
    • Manage state income and franchise tax compliance engagements, including coordinating the preparation and review of multistate returns, estimates, extensions, and related workpapers.
