Job Duties
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking an experienced professional to serve as the State Facility Admission and Diversion Specialist to work within the Patient Clinical Services (PCS) office of the Facility Services Division and augment, implement, and support the mission and vision of DBHDS. The position serves as the primary point of contact for geriatric and forensic admissions and is responsible for daily state hospital admissions to nine state hospitals, including seven hospitals that serve adult and geriatric patients, one hospital that exclusively serves geriatric patients, and one hospital that exclusively serves child and adolescent patients. This position reports to the State Hospital Admissions Specialist. In conjunction with manager oversight, this position will utilize clinical and procedural judgement to assess which patients are prioritized for limited resources. A valid, unrestricted driver's license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the Commonwealth's Driver Safety Program are required.
