Description

The ideal candidate will work with the sales staff in promoting the sale e sale of Amada stamping equipment within assigned territory.  Provides technical support to Amada Sales Engineers, Regional Managers, and others.  Assists the Sales Engineers in all phases of their sales activities along with providing training to new Sales Engineers.  Makes recommendations and suggestions to Product Manager concerning improvement of programs and procedures. This position is remote but will require travel throughout the country.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  •     Provides technical information to AMADA Sales Engineers and Product Managers.
  •     Maintains written activity reports, which are communicated to Product Manager.
  •     Prepares advance planning reports, including semester goals and strategies.
  •     Maintains regular contact and follow up with Sales Engineers and customers.   
  •     Visit customers with AMADA sales representatives and dealers, identify equipment needs, and develop stamping opportunities within agreed account and territory  assignments regularly. 
  •     Qualify applications by gathering part drawings, material grade and thickness, production volume, current process, output requirements, tooling status, budget and timing.
  •     Explain press and feed equipment options in practical terms. Develop preliminary recommendations and involve the Product Manager or applications team when further technical review is needed.
  •    Coordinate input from tooling suppliers, automation and internal teams. Assemble complete quotation requests and support technical proposals, equipment scope and customer questions.
  •    Support onsite equipment demonstrations, customer presentations, trade shows and practical training for sales representatives and dealers.
  •    Owns assigned follow-up actions. Maintain clear CRM records, customer commitments and next steps, coordinating with the account owner so opportunities keep moving.
  •    Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares special reports, as needed.
  • Assists in projects/duties within the company or department.

 

SKILLS:

  • Practical stamping knowledge, including press capacity and dimensions, basic die concepts, coil feeding, material considerations and safe operation.
  • Ability to read part drawings, ask useful application questions, and recognize when equipment suitability needs engineering or tooling review.
  • Credibility with manufacturing customers and the ability to explain technical subjects clearly to salespeople and decision makers.
  • Reliable follow-through, organized opportunity management, and willingness to travel for customer visits, demonstrations and industry events.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

  • Product Manager

 

SUBORDINATE STAFF:

  • None

 

KNOWLEDGE:

  •  Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
  •  Extensive knowledge of Amada  stamping products.
  •  Experienced in the sales process as it relates to the sheet metal industry.

 

SKILLS:

  •  Computer knowledge (word processing and spreadsheets).
  •  Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), detailed-oriented.

 

TRAVEL:

  •  Extensive travel.

 

MENTAL:

  •  Ability to work harmoniously with others.

 

LIFTING:   

  • Average Weight:  Up to 50 pounds unassisted. Frequency:  Daily
  • Requires the ability to bend, lift, stoop, reach, stand, crawl, and climb. Frequency:  Daily
