    Role Overview
    The Staff Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes in partnership with the internal project management team to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. This role provides hands-on support across planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and reporting for engineering, procurement, and construction projects.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead project controls processes to support execution within approved budget and schedule
    • Ensure accurate project setup within Enterprise Planning & Controls software
    • Analyze data, review logs, and generate reports using project controls systems and tools
    • Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
    • Create and maintain scheduling, cost, cash flow, and forecasting reports across multiple projects
    • Support engineering, procurement, construction planning, logistics, and cost control activities
    • Serve as a technical point of contact for project controls–related questions
    • Review and approve Purchase Orders and Subcontracts for proper coding
    • Input, document, and track changes to cost reports and forecasts
    • Interface with Project Management and Accounting teams to review costs, contingencies, and support audits
    • Review upstream and downstream change orders
    • Develop and present cash flow reports
    • Build schedules at various levels of detail and apply logic ties
    • Monitor resource loading and schedule performance
    • Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM)
    • Develop, review, and validate project scheduling reports and backup documentation
    • Analyze schedule progress using Critical Path Method (CPM) techniques
    • Perform schedule what-if scenarios and forecasting analysis
    • Develop and maintain an earned value management system
    • Input and validate progress measurement and progress curves
    • Perform material takeoffs, quality checks, inspections, and field audits
    • Assist with Project Forensic Analysis as needed
    • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards

    Required Skills & Qualifications
    Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and 3 years of direct project controls experience
    Applicable experience may be substituted for degree requirement
    • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 (preferred)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to obtain OSHA 10-hour safety certification
    • Willingness to accept field assignments
