Description

Our Client, a Financial company, is looking for a Staff Platform Engineer for their Plano, TX/Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Platform Engineering & Platform Capabilities:
  • Define the strategic direction and roadmap for platform engineering capabilities. Lead architecture and design of enterprise platforms, products, and shared services. Establish platform standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns. Drive platform modernization and cloud-native adoption. Oversee reusable APIs, SDKs, frameworks, and self-service capabilities. Align platform investments with business goals to improve scalability and developer productivity.
  • Intelligent Automation, AI Enabled Engineering:
  • Define enterprise automation strategies that accelerate the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle. Lead development of intelligent automation platforms, AI-powered capabilities, and autonomous workflows. Establish standards and governance for automation-first engineering practices. Drive adoption of AI agents and agentic workflows across engineering organizations. Improve productivity through automation, orchestration, and AI technologies. Partner with engineering and architecture leaders to scale automation enterprise-wide.
  • AI Engineering & Agent Platforms:
  • Define the vision for AI-enabled engineering platforms and agent ecosystems. Lead adoption of LLMs, agent orchestration frameworks, MCP, RAG, and
  • Emerging AI technologies.
  • Establish standards and patterns for scalable AI-powered solutions. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide strategic recommendations. Guide intelligent developer experiences and autonomous engineering capabilities. Promote readiness for AI-native engineering practices.
  • Developer Experience & Self-Service Engineering:
  • Define and drive the vision for developer experience across engineering platforms. Lead design of self-service ecosystems that improve speed, consistency, and autonomy. Establish standards for onboarding, development, testing, deployment, and support. Sponsor reusable accelerators, templates, and platform capabilities. Drive platform adoption through enablement, advocacy, and feedback. Champion a developer-first culture across engineering organizations.
  • Platform Operations, Reliability & Delivery Enablement:
  • Define strategies for platform reliability, resilience, scalability, and performance. Lead delivery enablement, CI/CD platforms, observability, and operational intelligence capabilities. Establish standards for IaC, deployment automation, and cloud operations. Drive monitoring, anomaly detection, automated remediation, and intelligent workflows. Use metrics and platform intelligence to improve delivery and operations. Guide teams in reliability engineering and operational maturity.
  • Security, Governance & Engineering Controls:
  • Define platform-wide governance, security, compliance, and risk management strategies. Establish enterprise guardrails, policy frameworks, and secure-by-design principles. Drive automated compliance, governance, and security capabilities across platform ecosystems. Partner with security, risk, architecture, and compliance stakeholders. Enable engineering agility through scalable governance frameworks and policy automation. Improve security posture through platform-driven controls and automation.

  • The Staff Platform Engineer drives the strategy, architecture, and evolution of enterprise platform engineering capabilities that enable scalable, secure, and efficient software delivery. This role leads the design of platform products, intelligent automation solutions, self-service capabilities, shared services, and cloud-native engineering ecosystems that improve developer productivity and operational excellence at scale. Working across engineering, architecture, security, product, and technology leadership teams, the Staff Platform Engineer establishes platform standards, accelerates adoption of modern engineering practices, and advances organizational maturity across the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC).
  • This role specializes in SDLC automation and intelligent engineering, defining the strategic direction for reusable platform products, shared services, frameworks, and self-service capabilities. Engineers drive enterprise adoption of platform engineering, automation-first practices, AI-powered solutions, and agentic workflows to improve software delivery efficiency, operational resilience, developer productivity, and organizational scalability across the AIDLC. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in platform engineering, software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, automation engineering, or related technical disciplines. Proven experience designing, implementing, and scaling enterprise platform capabilities, shared services, automation solutions, and developer productivity platforms and relevant experience working across areas of the Platform engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale technical initiatives and influencing engineering strategy across multiple teams.
  • Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, platform engineering, automation, DevOps, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading enterprise platform transformations, cloud modernization programs, developer experience initiatives, or AI-enabled engineering programs.
  • Experience defining technology strategy and influencing organization-wide engineering standards and roadmaps.
  • Relevant industry certifications in cloud platforms, DevOps, platform engineering, software development, automation, AI/ML, data engineering, or related technologies are preferred.
