Position Overview

A leading nonprofit, Magnet-designated pediatric hospital and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center is seeking an experienced Cardiac Specialty OR RN to join its highly specialized cardiac surgical team.

This role provides perioperative care for complex congenital and adult congenital cardiac procedures, working closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, and the multidisciplinary OR team.

Responsibilities

• Circulate and/or scrub complex cardiac surgical cases
• Prepare specialized cardiac instrumentation and equipment
• Support procedures involving cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB)
• Anticipate surgeon and intraoperative patient needs
• Coordinate implants, supplies, vendor representatives, and preference cards
• Maintain readiness for emergent cardiac procedures
• Support advanced surgical technology and invasive monitoring
• Participate in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives

Requirements

• BSN required
• Active RN license or eligibility
• Cardiac OR experience required
• Strong knowledge of cardiac surgical procedures and sterile technique
• Congenital cardiac surgery experience highly desirable
