As a small, growing company we value team members who bring a willingness to roll up their sleeves and partner across the organization to deliver on goals and the mission.Your RoleWalden is seeking an experienced accountant to bring their hands on mindset and strong analytical skills to our small accounting team. This position will own day-to-day AP/AR management, track complicated inventory costs and be closely involved with the monthly and quarterly close cycles in this growing, inventory-based business. As Walden Local grows, there are opportunities to transform and improve the existing financial systems.ResponsibilitiesManage accounts payable, including verifying and coding invoices, managing purchase orders, and initiating payment runsManage accounts receivable, including preparing deposits and handling collectionsPerform reconciliations and accruals for the monthly and quarter-end closing processProvide support for the annual financial review processWork closely with members of Walden finance team to prepare timely and accurate financial statementsEnsure compliance with the company finance policyField questions from vendors and customersAssist other members of the team in day-to-day tasks, including placing supply ordersPartner with other members of the finance team to improve the overall close processQualificationsExtremely detail-orientedWillingness to get hands dirty and jump in to do whatever needs to get doneExcellent communication skills, written & verbalBS degree or equivalent work experience2+ years accounting experienceAdvanced Excel skills, including concepts of databases and using mathematical, logical, statistical and financial functionsValued Attributes and SkillsPassion for our mission and sustainable agriculture/foodExperience with Xero, Stripe, and SquareDon't check all the boxes?
