Staff Accountant
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19154 (Onsite)
Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000
LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a reputable organization in search of a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Staff Accountant or an individual recently promoted into a Senior Accountant role who is looking to expand their responsibilities and gain exposure to a variety of corporate accounting functions. The organization offers a collaborative culture and strong potential for long-term professional growth.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries including accruals, prepaids, and account reclassifications
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
Perform freight accounting, including expense analysis, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
Ensure compliance with capitalization policies and procedures
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and explain significant variances
Assist with the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules
Support multi-entity accounting and consolidation activities
Collaborate with operations, logistics, tax, and other business partners to ensure accurate financial reporting
Assist with external audit requests and year-end reporting requirements
Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies
Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
2-5+ years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
Experience participating in month-end close activities
Fixed asset accounting experience preferred
Experience with freight, inventory, or distribution accounting is a plus
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and data analysis
Experience working with ERP systems
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
